How we stay neutral
The same rules apply to every server in the directory. Here they are, each with the place you can check it.
Facts come with a source and a date
A fact on a server page says where it came from and when we checked it, so you can look at the source yourself.

The same rules for every server
Rankings come from public numbers (downloads, stars, record checks) the same way for every server.
Check it: How rankings work
No grade and no safety rating
Record checks are a count of facts from public records. Every check counts the same, there is no letter grade, and the page lists each check with its reason.
Check it: Record checks, check by check
Our failed lookups are marked as ours
When a lookup fails on our side, the fact is marked as our limit, never as something the server lacks.
Check it: How the count works
What an AI model read is labelled
Labels made by an AI model are marked as an AI reading, and nobody has checked them by hand. A tool label is shown only where two differently worded runs gave the same answer.
Check it: How the AI readings are made
Mistakes are logged in public
A confirmed mistake on our side is fixed and listed, including mistakes we caught before publishing. Anyone can report one.
Check it: Corrections log · Report a wrong fact
You can check our work
Our facts are free to reuse under CC BY 4.0, and the commands we publish are open source.
Check it: Licence · API · Dataset · Source of our commands
What these rules do not mean
- Neutral does not mean complete. Some checks do not apply or could not run, and the page says which.
- A fact is true for its date. Public records change, and ours can be behind until our next read.
- A rank is an order of public numbers, not a recommendation.
- A server with a check we could not answer cannot appear on the all-nine list, because that list needs all nine checks read and met.
