What our findings are

Every figure on this site is a measurement of public records, taken on the date shown next to it. Upstream records change; a figure describes what we saw on that date, not what is true now.

Our findings are not security advice and not a certification of any server, package or publisher. A finding that a listing doesn’t match its upstream record is not a statement that anyone acted wrongly.

No warranty

The site and its data are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. We work to get things right and log every mistake we find in the corrections log, but you rely on the data at your own risk.

Quoting and reuse

You’re welcome to quote our figures with a link to the page they come from and the date they were checked. For any other reuse of the report data, contact us.

Per-server data and the API

The facts on the server pages and in the API are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0): you may share and adapt them, also commercially, if you credit “ProtocolProbe” with a link to the server’s page and the date checked. Text quoted from others is not ours to license: a server’s registry title, description and status message, quotes from its website, deprecation messages from npm or PyPI, and tool, resource and package names.

Corrections and responses

If you think a figure is wrong — or you publish a server and want to respond to something we show — tell us. We check every report against its source and log what changes.
